Jean Seay LeGrand

Jean Seay LeGrand, 91, of Colonial Heights, passed away on August 6, 2024, at Southside Medical Center. She was born November 19, 1932, in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Claude L. and Rachel A. Mann Seay, and was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert C. Seay. After many years of dedicated service at Safeway Stores and later at Sears Department Stores, she retired with a legacy of hard work and commitment. Jean's retirement was spent enjoying her time with family and friends, finding joy in simple pleasures and staying connected with those she loved. She is survived by her two sons, Thomas LeGrand (Linda), Dexter LeGrand (Martha), two daughters, Deborah LeGrand (Victoria) and Cathy Mayes (James), four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, August 10, 2024, in the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 3935 S. Crater Road Petersburg, Virginia 23805. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
