Jean Anthony Metosh, 82, of Colonial Heights, died Monday, July 6, 2009 at his residence. He was the son of the late Cyril Daniel and Lois Jones Metosh. He was preceded in death by a son, Barry Neil Metosh, a brother, Col. Patrick Metosh, three sisters, Gloria M. Harris, and Mary M. Parker, and Paula M. DeMary. Mr. Metosh was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Petersburg. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during WWII on the LST964 as a Radioman 3rd Class. He worked for 17 years with Allied Chemical, and retired as a Maintenance Supervisor for the Petersburg Water Treatment Plant. Mr. Metosh was an avid Nascar fan, and #1 fan of grandsons, Chris #43, and Shawn #84 at Southside Speedway, Richmond, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Clarke Metosh; a daughter, Cathy Hopkins and husband, Barry of Chesterfield; a son, Jeff Metosh and special friend, Lura Johnson of Orlando, Florida; six grandchildren, Angela Stalnaker and husband, Keith, Christopher Hopkins and wife, April, Shawn Hopkins and wife, Chris, Kristen Metosh and fiancée, Ryan Mason, Jamie Wright and husband, Jason, and Tyler Schiller; nine great-grandchildren, Brett Fuller, Brandon Fuller, Landen Stalnaker, Logan Hopkins, Ryan Hopkins, Faith Pollard, Hailey Hopkins, Chase Wright, and Kaylee Wright; one sister, Patricia M. Patram and husband, Edward; two brothers, Joseph R. Metosh and wife, Marie, and Daniel Metosh and wife, Dorit; sister-in-law, Lucille C. Cole; numerous special nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2009 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend David M. Prather officiating. Interment will follow Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home with a V.F.W. service at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S.
