Jean Dice Motto, 81, of Colonial Heights, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late John Elbert Dice Sr. and Nellie Kilmartin Dice. Mrs. Motto was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Motto Jr.; a granddaughter, Marie Edwards, and three brothers. She was a life member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Petersburg, where she was a member of the church choir, and a retired Secretary with Columbia Gas. Mrs. Motto is survived by two daughters, Catherine McKaig and husband, Bill of Chester, and Mary Ann Hill and husband, Richie of Matoaca, three sons, Robert L. Motto of Charleston, West Virginia, Michael H. Motto and wife, Kathryn of Boston, Massachusetts, and Richard P. Motto of Dinwiddie; grandchildren, Douglas Edwards, Shannon Emmert, Andrew Motto, Matthew Motto, Sean Motto, Brian Motto, and R. J. Hill; two great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Jennifer Courtney; sister, Mary D. Cox of Pennsylvania; numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 26, 2012 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 151 W. Washington Street, Petersburg, Virginia 23803 with Fr. Jay Biber officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
