Jean Norwood

Jean Griffin Norwood, 73, of Colonial Heights passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at her residence. Born on February 13, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Henry P. and Ann E. Griffin, and was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Robert K. Wilcox. Jean was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She loved the beach, especially when she was spending time at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, and loved her grandchildren with all of her heart. She is survived by her husband, William Y. Norwood; daughter, Kelly Russell and husband, Greg; son, Shawn Dillow; four grandchildren, Amanda Cooper, Olivia DePhillips, Tyler Russell and Dakota Dillow; sister, Janette Wilcox; niece, Kimberly Hall; and nephews Steve Wilcox and wife, Brenda, and Chad Griffin and wife, Laura. The family will like to express their deepest gratitude to Crater Community Hospice for the extraordinary care and compassion they provided for Mrs. Norwood. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday night, January 19, 2016 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests your consideration in donating to the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, Inc., P.O.
