Jean Pinkston Whitmore, 85, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014. Born in Henderson, Kentucky, Jean was the daughter of the late Noah A. and Emma Buchanan Pinkston, and the widow of Joe L. Whitmore, who passed away on October 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry W. Whitmore and lifelong friend, Betty Best. She was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Mrs. Whitmore was a member of Highland United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Lee A. Whitmore of Chesterfield; three grandchildren, Carson A. Whitmore of Chesterfield, Sydney-Allen B. Whitmore of Chesterfield, and Jennifer W. Hegwald and husband, Mark of Colonial Heights; two great-grandchildren, Courtney and Ashley Hegwald. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Dr. Dorothy O'Quinn officiating. Burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 3 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Highland United Methodist Church, 125 E.
