Jean McCarter Williams, 88, of Colonial Heights, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mearle McCarter, by her husband of 59 years, Eugene E. Williams, and by three brothers and one sister. Ms. Williams retired after many years as the head bank teller from Sovran Bank, now Bank of America. She was a loyal Virginia Tech fan and loved spending time at the Kitty Hawk Trailer Park with her friends and family. Jean was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son, Robert D. Williams and wife, Lisa; daughter, Jeanne W. Rose and husband, Howard; grandchildren, Scott Hudson, Jamie Young and husband, Jason, Katie Lewis and husband, Michael, Robbie Williams and wife, Teresa, Lori Keyser and husband, Stan; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, June McCann; special friends, Sandra Harrison, Ellen Benfield, and sister in-law, Agnes McCarter. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Reverend Marty Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Virginia.
