Jean Wood

Jean Funk Wood, 76, of Petersburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Johnston-Willis Medical Center. Born in Prince George, she was the daughter of the late Charles B. and Helen Johnson Funk, the widow of Aubrey H. Wood, and was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Funk Jordan. Mrs. Wood was a retired Tour Guide with the City of Petersburg. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Dawn Shepherd and husband, Wayne of Glen Allen, and Lynne Wood Vaughan and husband, Ray of Hanover; a son, Earl Holt Ezell III. of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Brendan and Lauren Shepherd, Madison and Morgan Vaughan; and a niece, Cheryl Jordan Comstock and husband, Greg of Chester. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 31, 2012 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
