Jerry Hopkins

Jerry Edward Hopkins, beloved member of The Heights Baptist Church, went to be with the Lord on Friday September 6, 2013. Jerry was a real estate broker for over 30 years in the Richmond area where he also coached many youth sports teams for many years. He was an avid Hokie fan who loved his family, his church, and friends. He is survived by his wife Jenny; dog KoKo; children John Hopkins and wife Lori, of Roanoke, Jessica Taylor and husband Levi, of Scottsville; mother Juanita Hopkins; brother Jim Hopkins; sister Jackie Hodges; grandchildren Chloe Hopkins, Jacob, Rebecca, David and Abigail Taylor, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held 7:30 p.m. Monday September 9, 2013 in The Heights Baptist Church, 17201 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in honor of Jerry to the American Kidney Foundation, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
