Jess Davis

Jess Alexander Davis, 82, of Colonial Heights, VA, formerly of Radford, VA passed away on November 27, 2014. He was an extremely generous, strong willed man who knew how to enjoy life. His family was the most important part of his life here on earth. He was a very loving and committed husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who was very loved and will be missed greatly. He was also a very devoted manager for Ample Storage Center for the last 15 years. Jess cherished the friendships he had made with Gail and Sheryl over the years, as well as his tenants whom he truly enjoyed helping and getting to know. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. and Stella Sowers Davis; brother, Ollie Sowers; sister, Lula Williams; and beautiful and beloved wife of 59 years, Betty Burton Davis. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tamara Williams and husband, Michael; son, Randall Davis and wife, Rene; grandchildren, Jon Williams and wife, Tiffany, Chris Williams, Amanda Clougher and husband, Billy, Kelsey McKnight and husband, Carson, Keaton Davis; great-grandchildren, Addison Williams, William Clougher IV, Jonathan Williams Jr., and Maxwell Clougher; many nieces and nephews, and his Burton family brothers and sisters who meant so much to him. The family will receive friends Wednesday December 17, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard.
