Jewell Gettings

Jewell West Gettings, 73, of Ford, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at MCV Medical Center. Born in Lunenburg County, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur J. and Rose Taylor West. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and a retired Dispatcher for Wal-Mart Distribution Center. Ms. Gettings is survived by a brother, Wilbur R. West of Ford; a sister, Marie W. Smalley and husband, Ricky of Juliette, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Dr. Andy Brockelman officiating. Committal Service is private. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VCU Massey Cancer Center, Palliative Care, P.O.
