A special thank you and hug to my cousin, Kandi for being with my father and me as my mom took her last breath and joined Jesus in Heaven. Jo Ann worked as a hair dresser for 20 years. She coached for over 20 years for Col. Hts. Rec. Dept. As a teenager, Jo Ann began coaching baseball then she progressed into softball, which was her favorite. Mary Jo expressed, "My mother was an extremely passionate and dedicated coach." "She truly loved the game of softball!" "When my mom was not coaching, we would sit together and watch games on many occasions until the park closed." Moma, I know you are a beautiful Angel in Heaven. You are now in no pain walking with Jesus in Heaven. I truly believe you have been reunited with your daughter, sister, and mother who you have so greatly missed. I am sure all of you are playing or coaching softball in Heaven. Or maybe, sitting on the sidelines taking in a game. I will join all of you one day. Save me a seat! Thank you for being my mother. I did not tell you enough. I love you and I will miss you very much. Thank you, dad, for taking such great care of her. Your love and devotion to moma was amazing. Dad, you were moma's best friend, husband, and care-taker that gave moma the sweetest compassion and phenomenal care. You were her hero and soul mate I so admire.
