Joan Magnolia Hubbard, 90, of South Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. She was born on January 9, 1935 to the late Chesterfield and Mary Lou Totty Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Otey Hubbard, Sr.; sons, Marty Ray Hubbard and Keith Andrew Hubbard; sister, Peggy Bennett; and brother, Butch Smith.
She was deeply proud of her native American Heritage and found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She had a passion for gardening, tending to her plants with patience and care. She also had a keen eye for beauty, reflected in her treasured collection of porcelain dolls and Native American memorabilia, each piece holding a special story and connection to her roots.
Above all, Joan’s greatest passion was her family. She was a pillar of love and strength, always putting the needs of her loved ones before her own. Her warmth, wisdom, and kindness will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
She is survived by her sons, Timothy Noel Hubbard and Richard Otey Hubbard, Jr.; daughters, Regina “Gina” Gayle Johnson and Joan “Tootsie” Beatrice Yeattes; beloved dog, Jazzamay; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, South Prince George, Virginia, 23805. Online condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com
