Joan Jones

November 20, 1933 — March 25, 2018

Joan Daughtry Jones, 84, of Hopewell went home to be with her Lord after an extended illness. Joan was preceded in death by her father, Oscar T. Daughtry and mother, Pearl Perdue Daughtry, and her husband, Breece Jones. She was an active member of Sycamore United Methodist Church until her illness did not allow her to continue. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends and loving on her grand pups, which she referred to as her babies. She is survived by a son, William Edward "Bill" Glass III and wife, Billie of Hopewell; daughter, Donna Glass of Hopewell; two grandsons, Nicholas Glass of Hopewell and Kenny Glass of Prince George; step-grandchildren, Jason, Sean, and Dale Godwin three sisters, Elsie Green, Jackie Callis, and Lee Killian; a brother, Oscar T. "Butch" Daughtry; as well as numerous nieces, nephews; five grand pups, Crystal, Christian, Grace, Joy and Cody, whom she dearly loved; and four devoted friends, Alice, Beth, Katie, and Veta. The family would like to thank Dr. Daniela Cioflec, as well as Kindred Hospice, especially nurses, Mia and Denise for their excellent care that was provided during her illness. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Sycamore United Methodist Church, 9710 Old Stage Road, Prince George, Virginia 23875 with the Reverend DeWayne A. Duncan and Reverend Gilbert Elder officiating. Burial will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association, 8180 Greensboro Drive Suite 400, McLean, Virginia 22102. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
