Joan Kennedy

Joan Marie Kinton Kennedy, 80, of Chesterfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at her residence. She was born May 28, 1933 to the late Oscar and Columbia Vest Kinton, and the widow of Ralph P. Kennedy. She is survived by two sons, Fred Kennedy and Robert Kennedy Sr.; several grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jean Shifflett and Hester Jones. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Second Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, 12217 Second Branch Road, Chesterfield, Virginia 23838 with the Reverend C. Steven Vaughan officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard.
