Joan Race Motto, 84, of Disputanta, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024, at her residence. She was born July 12, 1940, in Hopewell, Virginia to the late John and Mary Schulze Race. Joan was a member of Monumental Baptist Church in Petersburg, Virginia, where she served on the nominating committee and assisted with the food bank. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She is survived by her loving husband, Forest Motto, and her loving son, Glen Motto. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024, in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, South Prince George, Virginia 23805. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805.
