Joan Wells Vaughan, 62, of Dinwiddie County, died on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at her residence. She was a native of Dinwiddie and was the daughter of the late Ernest Floyd and Nannie Crowder Wells. Mrs. Vaughan was preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Vaughan and a step son Robert (Bobby) Vaughan. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Dinwiddie. Mrs. Vaughan is survived by her three daughters; Melissa Vaughan Munoz and husband, Alejandro of Dinwiddie, Holly Vaughan Smith and husband, Daniel of Chester, Barbara Vaughan of Dinwiddie; two grandsons, Steven Vaughan and fiancé, Tamika Wilson, Peter Vaughan and fiancé, Cassandra Sullivan; four great grandchildren, Alyssa V. Vaughan, Ayanna R. Vaughan, Aulani M. Vaughan, Ricardo A. Munoz; two loving and faithful pets, Buddy and Sweet Pea. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 at Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia, with the Reverend Rodney Jenkins officiating. The funeral procession will leave the Petersburg Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory 3935 S. Crater Road 23805 at 1:45 p.m. on Friday.
