Joan Whichard

Joan Kathleen Whichard, 79, of Prince George, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 14, 2021. She was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on March 6, 1941 to the late Harold and Vina Ragland. Mrs. Whichard was a longtime member of Monumental Baptist Church and was devoted to mission work. She worked in the shoe department at Thalhimer’s and was a realtor for ERA Real Estate. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry W. Whichard. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Brewer (Raymond); six grandchildren and their spouses; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara “Bobbie Sue” Daniels (Paul); brothers-in-law, Emmanuel Whichard (Linda) and Rodney Whichard; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Monumental Baptist Church, 2925 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805 with Rev. Duane Guridy officiating. Funeral arrangements made by the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805.
