Joan Pulley Wilkinson of Colonial Heights, Virginia, beloved wife of William (Bennie) Wilkinson, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 in Richmond. She is survived by two daughters, Cathryn Wilkinson Thompson of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and Cynthia W. Comer of Powhatan; two sons-in-law, Brian Thompson and Mark Comer; two grandchildren, Barbara Christina Comer and Matthew Wilkinson Comer; two sisters, Maxine King (Clay), and Joyce Holzner; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The daughter of John Edward and Selma Pulley, she was born in Chesterfield County, Virginia, was a graduate of Petersburg High School, and a member of Chester United Methodist Church. Mrs. Wilkinson retired as President of Wilkinson Advertising. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010 in Chester United Methodist Church, 12132 Percival Street, Chester with Reverend Dr. Margaret T. Kutz officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Gifts in her memory may be made to Chester Family YMCA, 3011 W. Hundred Road, Chester, Virginia 23831.
