Johanna Diaz

Johanna Ilene Diaz, 32, of Colonial Heights VA passed from this life on March 6, 2016. She is survived by her husband Luis F. Diaz and daughter Sophia K. Diaz of Colonial Heights VA, her parents Michael and Karen Autrey also of Colonial Heights VA, his parents Luis and Diana Diaz-Diaz of Chester VA, two brothers Jon Autrey (and wife Elizabeth Voyer Autrey) of El Paso TX, and Keith Autrey (and wife Eve Butler Autrey) of York County VA, a sister-in-law Diana Diaz-Arzuaga of Chester VA and 6 nieces and nephews, Dakota, Michael and Jordan Autrey of El Paso TX, Ella and Kaitlyn Autrey of York County VA and Aiden Huddleston Diaz of Chester VA and a large extended family. Johanna attended school in Colonial Heights, Richard Bland College, Longwood University and the Virginia Commonwealth University. She loved art, antiquities, crafting, photography and thrifting. Johanna loved living and celebrated each day. She enjoyed working with people, first as a historical interpreter with the Jamestown Settlement Living History Museum and then as a Pharmacy Technician for Sam's Club. Johanna was a loving wife and an incredible mom, a caring daughter and sister, a devoted aunt, and a loyal friend. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11 at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia, 23834. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia, 23834. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
