John J. “Pops” Artus Sr., 76, of Prince George passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021. Born on April 13, 1945 in New York, New York, he was the son of the late Joseph and Florence Reed Artus.
Mr. Artus was a United States Army veteran, a retired auto mechanic for the U.S. Postal Service in New York and a retired part time security guard at John Tyler Community College, Midlothian Campus.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Artus; son, Johnny Artus (Debbie); daughter, Tanya Mosher; grandchildren, Brittany Wright (Joshua), Tobi Mosher and Nadia Artus; brother, Joseph Artus (Pam); sister, Diane Grebe (Rich); numerous nieces and nephews and devoted companions, Sally and Charlie Brown.
Mike Hobbs will officiate the graveside service at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2021 at Appomattox Cemetery, 703 N 21st Avenue, Hopewell, Virginia 23860. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Prince George Animal Shelter, 8391 County Dr, Disputanta, Virginia 23842. Arrangements by the Crater Road Chapel of the E.
