John C. Beasley, 69, of Chapin, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Born in Petersburg, Virginia he was the son of the late William E. Beasley, Sr. and Julia G. Beasley; and was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley D. Beasley; and a sister, Nancy B. Pearce. Mr. Beasley was a United States Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of several medals during his four years. With over 35 years of service, he retired from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company. He is survived by his two sons, Chris C. Beasley and wife, Shellie of Richmond Hill, Georgia and Daniel G. Beasley of Macon, Georgia; three precious grandchildren, Katherine, Alexander and Waylon; two brothers, William E. Beasley, Jr. and wife, Linda and David A. Beasley; five sisters, June B. Anderson and husband, George, Patricia B. Smith and husband, Lewis, Janet B. Janosik and husband, Mickey, Susan B. Basl, Donna B. Jarvis and husband, David; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October, 24, 2016 at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia with the Reverend Robert Rowland officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, South Prince George. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the funeral home.
