John Franklin Bish, Sr., 76, of Colonial Heights, VA passed away on December 2, 2015 at his residence. Born in Petersburg, VA he was the son of the late Edward Bish and Helen Crowder House; and one brother, Herbert Bish. Mr. Bish had worked at Nolde Brothers Bakery in Petersburg, VA for 21 years, and then retired as a machine operator from Phillip Morris (Park 500) after 20 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Emory Bish of Colonial Heights; a son, John F. Bish, Jr. and wife, Darlene of Prince George; one granddaughter, Tiffany Bish of Colonial Heights; and a sister, Edith Bish Ricks and husband, John of Colonial Heights. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Colonial Heights/Petersburg SPCA.
