John Brewer

John A. (Jiggs) Brewer, 80, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Mr. Brewer was the son of the late John L. and Sophie Wright Brewer and was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Moak Brewer. Mr. Brewer was a United States Air Force veteran, and was a retired Technician with Columbia Gas. He is survived by his children, Teresa G. Brewer of Colonial Heights, Kenneth Webb Brewer of Chester, and Kim B. Usubaliev of Colonial Heights; three grandchildren, Blaine Evans Gayle II, Joseph Scott Wright, and David Allen Brewer; three great-grandchildren, Chloe Renee Gayle, Dustyn Scott Wright, and Valarie A. Wright; sisters and brothers, Lois McAden, Hubert Brewer, Jane Browder, Frances Crutchfield, Minnie Downey, and Wilbur Brewer. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
