John Marsden Buren John Marsden. Buren, 90, of Colonial Heights, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013. He was born August 18, 1922 to the late Samuel R. and Eva P. Beale Buren, and was preceded in death by a brother Douglas Buren and a sister Kathleen B. Davis. Mr. Buren was a United States Army Veteran, a Charter member of Swift Creek Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, and retired after 30 years of service from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company. He is survived by his wife Jane H. Buren of Colonial Heights, son John T. Buren of Colonial Heights, daughter Cheryl F. Sheppard and husband Randy of Goochland, granddaughter, Lindsey Sheppard, sister-in-law Julia Buren of Colonial Heights, nephew Douglas R. Buren Jr., and wife Sharron, niece Carol Ricker and husband Don of Chester, cousin Mary Allen Clark and husband Jack of Washington State. A funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 in Swift Creek Baptist Church, 18510 Branders Bridge Road, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, with the Reverend Dr. Steve Felker officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
