John Henshaw

John Edgar Henshaw, 78, of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at his home while surrounded by his loved ones. He was born September 18, 1938 to the late Everett and Ruby Juanita Cook Henshaw and was also preceded in death by his brother, Everett Lee Henshaw and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Howard Jr. John was a devoted member of the Chesterfield Community Church and had retired from Ragsdale Building Supply and as a Proprietor of Central Building and Remodeling. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Anne Henshaw Horning (Robert J.); three grandchildren, Alan, John, and Anne; four great-grandchildren, Tanner, Alan Jr., Anna and Sebastian; his sisters, Millie Bonnie Henshaw Howard, Elizabeth Henshaw Shrum (John), and Margaret Henshaw Moore (Horace); a brother, Douglas Wayne Henshaw; and his best friend and devoted companion, Joan Colbert as well as numerous beloved nephews, nieces, and a multitude of extended family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. G. Reggie Kirkman officiating, at Chesterfield Community Church (Greenwood Presbyterian Church) 7110 Woodpecker Road, Chesterfield, Virginia 23838. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of John's memory to the Chesterfield Community Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 576, Chesterfield, VA. 23832.
