John Harpole Sr.

John D. Harpole Sr., 83, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at his residence. Born in Kentucky, he was the son of the late John L. and Maggie Smith Harpole, and was preceded in death by a daughter; Donna Harpole Bishop. He was a United States Navy veteran, and was a civil service employee for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Mabel L. Harpole; son, John D. Harpole Jr. of Petersburg; a daughter, Kathy E. Wilcox of Summerfield, Florida; a grandson, Lloyd C. Bishop III of Colonial Heights, great-grandchildren, Sierra Bishop, Noah Wilcox, Kristine Wilcox and Donovan Wilcox. Services will be private. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
