John Hines Sr.

John Howard Hines Sr., 81, of Reedville, Virginia, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018. He was born to the late Robert and Elizabeth Hines on December 9, 1936. John lived a big life, much like the big game he hunted out west. He was an adventurer and an entrepreneur. He owned and operated a heating and air conditioning business until early retirement in 1986. He is survived by his four children, Elaine Connell and her husband, Bart, Howard Hines Jr. and his wife, Gayle, Jonathan Hines, and Steven Hines; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Oakwood Cemetery, 198 E. Third Street, South Hill, Virginia 23970.
