John Neely Jr.

John Herbert "Johnny" Neely Jr., 89, of Petersburg, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at his residence. Born in Nebraska, he was the son of the late John Herbert Neely Sr. and Maggie Parker Neely. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis J. Neely. Mr. Neely was a United States Army veteran who served in WWII. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret Lucille Neely; two sons, John and David; seven daughters, Rose, Sharon, Sherrie, Sandra, Bonnie, Beverly and Michelle; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Eugene Ballance officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George.
