John Rudy

John O. Rudy, 75, of Chesterfield passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. Born in Chesterfield, he was the son of the late Henry E. Rudy Jr. and Katie Grigg Rudy, and was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Rudy and a brother, Phillip "Bo" Rudy. Mr. Rudy was a retired forklift driver with the HON Company. He loved woodworking, his family and special vacations to Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Webb Rudy; a daughter, Judy R. Clements and husband, Thomas E. of Spring Grove; a son, Jon C. Rudy and wife, Angela of Chesterfield; two grandchildren, Nikki E. Rudy of Chesterfield, and Michael Clements and wife, Meagan of Newport News; a great-grandson, Dylan M. Clements; two sisters, Doris Hopkins of South Chesterfield and Lucille Lane of Colonial Heights; numerous nieces and nephews; a special niece, Lisa Ramey of Dinwiddie; and a special nephew, Barry Hopkins of Chesterfield. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012 in Woods United Methodist Church, 7200 Hickory Road, South Chesterfield, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Joe Carson and the Reverend Gene Tatum officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at church.
