John Wilbert Tench, 91, of Colonial Heights, passed away on September 29, 2008 at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. He was the son of the late Patrick and Lottie Wells Tench and the widower of Carrie Mabel Tench. Mr. Tench served in the Army Air Corp during WWII, and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Colonial Heights. He is survived by two daughters, Sylvia T. Campbell of Florida, and Evelyn M. Tench of Chesterfield; four grandchildren, Faith M. Tench, Karrin L. Price, Alison L. Hacker, and Denise M. Campbell; and ten great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2008 in Immanuel Baptist Church, 630 Lafayette Avenue with the Reverend David M. Prather officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
