John Thomas Walker, 56, of Dinwiddie passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Born on December 6, 1967, he was the son of the late Harry Hillman Walker and Billie Fay Phillips. John was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Dinwiddie, VA and retired from VDOT after 30 years of service. He was an avid fisherman, loved Motocross, playing Pool, Ping Pong, traveling in their 5th wheel with his beloved wife and three fur babies and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Angela B. Walker; children, Kersten F. Walker of Middlesex, Angela L. Barricks of Dinwiddie, David R. Kurek of Ford, Alexis D. Brown (Jonathan) of Disputanta, Aaron T. Graham of Dinwiddie and C. Garrison Burke of Chester; five grandchildren, Hannah & Autumn Barricks, Kolton & Hartley Kurek, and Danielle Brown, whom he loved dearly and was affectionately known as Pop; brothers, Gary H. Walker (Joy) of Dinwiddie, Steven W. Walker (Debbie) of Matoaca, and sister Cynthia W. Sipple (Donald) of Chesterfield; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at North Dinwiddie Church, 25213 Ferndale Road, Petersburg, VA 23803, with Reverends Dwayne Walker and Robert L. Rowland officiating. At the conclusion of the service, the family and friends will gather in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Walker to the VCU Massey Cancer Center at support.vcu.edu, North Dinwiddie Church or Smyrna Baptist Church.
