John H. Watson Sr., 95, of Chester, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Chippenham Medical Center. He was the son of the late Willie G. and Lula May Crew Watson, and was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Morris Watson; and sisters and brothers. Mr. Watson retired from Whitaker Medical, he was a founding member of the Enon Optimist Club and an avid golfer and member of the Golf Association at First Tee. He was a United States Army Air Corps veteran having served in World War II. He is survived by two sons, John H. Watson Jr. and wife, Terry, Jackie L. Watson; a daughter, Brenda W. Fitzgerald; six grandchildren, John H. Watson III and wife Susan, Kyle A. Watson, Jason L. Watson, Angie Mazzella, Nicole Fitzgerald, and Stephanie Gedeon; four great-grandchildren, John H. Watson IV, Charlotte M. Watson, Jessica Chambers, and Owen Gedeon; a sister, Mary Brooks; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend David Prather officiating. Burial to follow in Bermuda Memorial Park, Enon, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the funeral home.
