John Wheatley

John H. Wheatley, 79, of Sutherland, died on Monday, February 9, 2009 at his residence. He was the son of the late Bernard and Emma Robinette Wheatley and the widower of Jackie Wheatley. He was a member Ocran United Methodist Church, and the Sutherland Hunt Club. He retired from Sears & Roebuck Co. as a service technician and worked for Martin / Priority Toyota after his retirement. He is survived by a daughter, Jane W. Moore and husband, Phillip of Sutherland; a son, John Wheatley Jr.; four grandchildren, Phillip Eric and Ashley Moore of Sutherland, Sarah Wheatley Curry and husband, Steve of Richmond, and Bill Wheatley and wife, Diana of Forest City, North Carolina; two sisters, Betty Fields and husband, Harold and Ival Jones and husband, Bud ; two brothers, Jackie Wheatley and Don Wheatley. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2009 in Ocran United Methodist Church, 20221 Cox Road, Sutherland with the Reverend Gene C. Tatum, the Reverend Harry B. Jones, and the Reverend Darwood Rowan officiating. Interment Ocran United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.
