John Zauner

John N. Zauner, 54, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, died Monday, January 28, 2013. He was a dedicated Christian, and an active leader at Crosslight Assembly of God in Petersburg. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Bowling Green State University, Master of Science degree from Case Western Reserve University, had worked as an Instructor of Operations Research at US Army Logistics University, The Department of the Army at Fort Lee, as well as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at John Tyler Community College. John is survived by his wife of 29 years, Cheryl; daughters, Rachel Bishop, Sarah Stearns, Rebekah and Hannah; two sons-in-law, Steven Bishop and Justin Stearns; grandchildren, Ellie Bishop and Liam Bishop; mother, Elizabeth; brother, Paul; and sisters, Anne, Eileen, and Mary. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 in the Life Church, 16801 Harrowgate Road, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Michael Buckley officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Friday, February 1, 2013 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
