Johnie Shelton

Johnie Emmit Shelton, 80, of Colonial Heights passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021.  He was born on October 10, 1940, the son of the late Lon Emmit Shelton and Esther Morgan Shelton and was preceded in death by three sisters: Inez Shelton Wells, Jean Shelton Miner and Betty Shelton Francois. He is survived by his wife, Paula Malcomb Shelton; daughter, Kim Shelton Hedge; son, Ryan Shelton; grandchildren, Ryleigh Hedge and Chase Hedge; sister, Carolyn Shelton Gonzales and numerous nieces & nephews. Mr. Shelton served in the US Army for 3 years and retired from Sears after 40 years in furniture and appliances. He spent his retirement years enjoying time with his family, telling jokes to friends and dancing at the Hopewell Moose Lodge, and feeding squirrels, birds and any other hungry animals in his backyard. A celebration of life will be planned at a later time.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local animal shelter or Alzheimer's organization.  Funeral arrangements are be handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
