Johnnie Beemer Jr.

August 16, 1928 — June 13, 2016

Johnnie Kent Beemer Jr., of South Chesterfield, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016 at his residence. He was the son of the late Johnnie Kent Beemer Sr. and Ruth Holdren Beemer. Mr. Beemer preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Collier Beemer; a son, Jeffrey Kent Beemer; step son, Dale Crowder; two brothers, Emmitt Beemer and Robert Beemer, and sisters, Zilphia Simmons and Beatrice Beemer. He retired from Brown and Williams Tobacco Company and was a U.S. Army Veteran and a former member of Life Church in Colonial Heights. He is survived by his wife, Jean Beemer; children, Pamela J. Beemer of Colonial Heights, Johnna B. Bradner and husband, Charlie of Matoaca, Mary Sue B. Creech of Dinwiddie; step-children, Richard Crowder Jr. and wife Susan and Phillip Crowder Sr. of Chesterfield; seven grandchildren, Damian Christopher Green, John Green and wife, Sarah, Tiffany Allison, Kasey Bradner, Destiny Worden and husband, Andrew, Courtney Creech, Brittany Creech; step grandchildren, Meagan Crowder, Anna Nicole Crowder, Phillip Crowder Jr.; great grandson Ashton Worden, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of At Home Care Hospice for their support and care they have given. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2016 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory 2033 Boulevard, 23834 with Reverend Larry Briggs officiating. Burial to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to At Home Care Hospice, 2922 west Marshal St Richmond, Virginia 23230 or the charity of your choice. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
