Johnny "Pop" Van Dyke, 83, of South Chesterfield, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rhoda Mary Johnson Hagy; one brother, J.D. Hagy and one grandson, Kennon Wyatt Van Dyke. Mr. Van Dyke was a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church and a retired Professional Truck Driver with over 4 million Safe Driving Miles. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Iris Van Dyke; three sons, David M. Van Dyke, Sr. and wife, Cathy, Curtis F. "Tuck" Van Dyke and wife, Kerri, Michael S. Van Dyke and wife, Pam; two daughters, Cheryl Y. Van Dyke, Tina R. Hazelwood and husband, Rik; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five sisters, JoAnn, Wanda, Sue, Connie, and Debbie; three brothers, Bruce, Duke, Chimer, and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Swift Creek Baptist Church, 18510 Branders Bridge Rd, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Dr. Steve Felker officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 25, 2017, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Johnny M.
