Jomae Tumino Cole, 79, of Petersburg, passed away on October 24, 2024. Born in New York to the late John and Maria Tumino. She is preceded by her aunt, Gertrude Vallone; cousin, Richard Richter; and various other aunts and uncles.
After living in various other states, she settled in Petersburg in 1969. She was a member of Monumental Baptist Church. Jomae worked in the hospitality industry for several years before moving on to several different local taxi companies as a dispatcher, as well as an owner and operator providing services to Fort Lee before retiring from Rainbow Taxi Company.
She Belonged to the Women of the Moose, and participated in many church outreach activities, including making Christmas Shoe boxes, yard sale events, dinners and other activities when needed. She also loved crocheting, knitting, and various other crafts. Throughout her life she has enjoyed many things such as Motorcycle riding, camping and traveling with family and friends, playing Bingo and collecting special items. She had a love of animals to include fish, birds, Himalayan and Ragdoll cats and a few very special pooches, most recently her little black shih tzu, Josie.
She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Jerry Cole; son, Thomas Robert Woods (Kelly); grandchildren Thomas Robert Woods II (Kerry), Stephen Knowles III, Melissa Knowles Arnold (Jason), Zacharie Alan Knowles (Jenna), Daniel Alexander Knowles (Christina), Jessica Bishop; great-grandchildren, Vera Lynn Woods, Landon Ross Schroeder, Kierstin Schroeder; and cousin, Janice Tumino.
Memorial Service will be held at Monumental Baptist Church, 2925 S. Crater Rd, Petersburg, VA 23805 on November 2nd, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Monumental Baptist Church.
