Post Command Sergeant Major, Jose A. Paulino, US Army (Ret.), 78, of Colonial Heights passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Born in Guam on March 6, 1943, he was the son of the late Mariano T. and Maria San Nicholas Paulino. He is returning home to the Lord to be reunited with his parents, brothers and sisters.
After a full retirement from the Army, Mr. Paulino worked for Sonoco Paper Products Company (1990-2002) and The Defense Logistics Agency (2002-2016). Mr. Paulino enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and was an avid gardener. Mr. Paulino was a member of the Colonial Heights American Legion Post #284 and Saint Ann Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lou Paulino; three daughters, Maria Fultz (Scott), JoAnne Knowles (Charles), and Michelle Brewer (Lester); sons, Mike Paulino (Debbie) and Chris Paulino (Mikie); grandchildren, Josephine, Dylan, Bryan, Ashley, Taylor, Torrie, Emma, and Bella; great-grandchild Remi; sisters, Felomena P. Chargualaf, Catalina Paulino, Sister Notre Dame Regina Paulino, Sisters of Mercy McAuley Paulino; sister in-law, Flora Paulino; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Saint Ann Catholic Church, Building Fund, 17111 Jefferson Davis Highway, S. Chesterfield, Virginia 23834.
