Joseph Coltrane

Joseph William Frank Coltrane, 60, of Carson, died early Monday, March 30, 2009 at McGuire Veterans Hospital, Richmond following a lengthy illness. Mr. Coltrane was preceded in death by his parents Joseph William and Beulah Speck Coltrane, and a sister, Carolyn Lee Coltrane. He was born on July 14, 1948 in Lorain, Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Carson; a son, Christopher Coltrane of Woburn, Massachusetts; stepchildren, Laurie Henderson of North Andover, Massachusetts, and Gregg Henderson of Lawrence, Massachusetts; three grandchildren, Zachary, Zoe, and Isabel Henderson; a brother, Dennis William Coltrane; and a sister, Darlene Marie Coltrane both of Lorain, Ohio; a niece; and a great nephew; close friends, Diane Tessier, and Gary Vick. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009 in the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road with the Reverend James Pfost officiating. Interment Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
