Joseph Gorsky

Joseph L. Gorsky, affectionately known as "Grandad," passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013. He had been living with his daughter and grandchildren in Colonial Heights since 2010. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jean Anne Gorsky in 1964. Joe was steadfast in his faith and attended Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, where he also participated in the Men's Ministry when able. He was a faithful supporter of the students of Colonial Heights High School, and loved to attend sporting events, musical programs, and plays to watch "his kiddos." He frequently visited the Fellowship of Christian Athlete's meetings at Colonial Heights High School and was inspired by the faith of the students. He was loved deeply by the students and will be greatly missed. He will be cremated and interred in Kansas at a private service. He is survived by his daughter, Anne Cromer; his granddaughter, Katie Cromer; and his grandson, Chris Cromer, all of Colonial Heights; his son, Marvin Gorsky; his wife, Ellen Gorsky; daughter, Katherine Muir; and sons, Robert Radcliff and B.J. Radcliff. He had 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. A memorial service and Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3110 Greenwood Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to the CHHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes, 3600 Conduit Road, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 to be used to further God's Kingdom in our schools.
