March 21, 1961 — January 9, 2017

Joseph Clinton Lanier (Clint), better known as Bitty, Smoke and Cowboy to family and friends and resident of Colonial Heights, Virginia passed away January 9th, 2017. Clint was a mechanic of 40 plus years and his favorite hobby was drag racing. Clint was a loving husband, Cynthia's best friend and soul mate. Clint was always ready to help anyone and everyone in need and loved animals. Clint is predeceased by his father, Joseph Carlton Lanier. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Lanier of 20 years; his mother, Marie Lanier; brothers, Gerry Lanier and wife Doris, Michael Lanier and wife Dawn; sisters, Pam Lanier and Yvette Lanier; mother-in-law, Nellie Hinch and husband Butch; sisters-in-law; Alyse Wozniak, Glenda Carter, Maryanne Jarrett and Jewel Feenstra, brothers-in-law, David Wozniak, Richard Jarrett, Mike Feenstra, Farryl Essig and Richmond Wollstein; nephews, Blake Thompson, Matthew Thompson, David Amick, Tyler Jarrett, Patrick Amick, Austin Essig and Evan Essig; step-daughter, Stacy Miller; nieces, Kiersten Lanier and SuniAryn Amick; great nieces, Bobbi Jo Miller, Jadah Newton, Rihanna Wollstein; and great nephew, Adam Wollstien. A graveside service will be held at Southlawn Memorial Park on Monday morning, January 16,2017 at 10:30am. 1911 Birdsong Road, South Prince George, Va. 23805. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to, The VCU Massey Cancer Foundation, 401 College Street, Richmond, VA 23298.
