Joy Mccray

Joy Vaughan McCray, 92, of Colonial Heights passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022, surrounded by her family. Born December 11, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Otis Lee and Nannie Louise Vaughan, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Horace McCray. Joy loved visiting the Colonial Heights Library and playing Bridge in her free time.

She is survived by her children, Steve Skalak (Maryanne), Lisa Skalak, Craig Skalak (Elke), Kelly Bishop (Mike), six grandchildren, Kristina Skalak (David), Tristan McCray, Grant Skalak (Kaleigh), Matt Skalak, Zac Bryant, Deni Clayton, and numerous great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2022, in Blandford Cemetery, 319 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23803. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colonial Heights Library. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
