Joyce Andrews

Joyce Lee Rice Andrews, 76, born on May 24, 1939 in Hopewell, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Daniel Branson Rice Sr. and Edith Louise Toney Rice. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Lewis; sisters, Edith Lewis, Rachel Williams, Gloria Ashby, Linda Bailey and Sue Casto; brothers, Daniel Rice Jr., Everett Rice and infant Donald Rice. She was a member of White Oak Methodist Church in Wilsons, Virginia and on June 27, 1971 she transferred her membership to Wood's United Methodist Church until present. She had a great love for Woods Church and all of the members, who she referred to as good Christian friends. She loved the Lord with all her heart and is looking forward to spending eternity with him. She is survived by three daughters, Judith Duncan (Dave), Jacqueline Paige Brown (Scott) and Carolyn Wilkerson (Gerald); five sons, Raymond "Bud" Lewis (Sandra), William Moorman, Charles Stout, Kevin Andrews (Teresa) and Alan Andrews (Cathee); twenty-two grandchildren, Shaun, Richard, Christine, Melissa, Brooke, Jesse, Casey, Havilah, Lauren, Jerrod, Georgia, Paige, Joshua, Tabitha, Katie, Stephanie, Austin, Madison, Zachary, Kayla, Kevin Jr., and Branson; ten great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Patterson, Peggy Stephens and Grace Crowe (Guy); three brothers, Robert E. Rice, Wayne B. Rice (Diane) and James C. Rice; a very special loving niece, Vicky Webb (Brian) and special nephew, James Patterson; faithful friends, Charlene Wall, Betty Fry, Ellen Carlton and Ken Crowder; and her faithful canine companion, Stephanie "Sassy" Andrews. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2015 at Wood's United Methodist Church, 7200 Hickory Road, S. Chesterfield, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Joe Carson and the Reverend David Morefield officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wood's United Methodist Church or Crater Community Hospice, 8316 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805.
