Joyce Jones

Joyce Ann Jones, 86, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, passed away at Southside Regional Medical Center on Friday, May 26, 2017. Born in Bristol, Tennessee on February 22, 1931, to the late Joel and Bevie Johnson Harvey, Joyce worked as an Insurance Representative for over 25 years. She was a member of the Alpha Eta Chapter 1435 and the Red Hat Society, as well as a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church for many years. Joyce was also a big fan of the card game bridge, which she played several times a week, and loved travelling with her closest friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard H. Jones, Sr. Joyce is survived by her son, Richard H. Jones, Jr.; her daughter, Tamera Fenderson; grandchildren, Lee Ann Fenderson, Kayla M. Jones, and Richard "RJ" Jones, III.; her sisters-in-law, Shirley Duvall and Martha Freeman. A memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 620 Lafayette Ave., Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Steve Lalk officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 1, 2017 between 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church.
