Joyce Lee

In loving memory of Joyce Lee, 76, who at 5:10 p.m. on December 16, 2016 left her family and friends behind as she departed to spend Christmas with her Lord and Savior. Born February 27, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dora McSwain, and was also preceded in death by her brother, JG McSwain. Joyce worked as a security officer and machine operator for Honeywell until she retired. She then became a homemaker, as she loved to be with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lee and her husband, Henry, were proud owners of the Putt-Putt Golf Course in Petersburg for many years. She was cherished by everyone who she had the pleasure of meeting and will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Henry Dixon Lee; children, Gayle Mathis, Janet Weaver and husband, Lloyd, Jerry Baker, Joe Lee and wife, Lauree; grandchildren, Jackie Kruse and husband, Michael, Michael Mathis, James Mathis, Nicole Tant and husband, Steven, Starr Lee-Caldwell and husband, Kalabe, Ryan Bell, Jerry and Jeffrey Baker; great-grandchildren, Caden, Brandon and Addison Tant, Alexis, Mikey, Issaic and Cora Kruse, Michael and Makenzie Mathis, Brody Mathis; sister, Barbara Horne; brother, Bob McSwain and wife, Sybil; and great-niece, Stacey Faille and husband, Richard. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 20, 2016 at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805, with the Reverend Carl Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George.
