Joyce Prather

Joyce Schoolcraft Prather,75, of Hopewell, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017, at Chippenham Medical Center, Richmond. Born in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Ezra J. and Garnet Rogers Schoolcraft and was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Kirby. Mrs. Prather was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Prince George and worked as a CNA for over forty years at John Randolph Nursing Home / Riverview on the Appomattox. She was also employed as a home healthcare provider and a volunteer for the Hopewell EMS. Mrs. Prather is survived by her loving husband, Wayman Edward Prather and her loving extended family, the Presley and Pitts families. A funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Faith Baptist Church 5501 Middle Road Prince George, VA 23875 with Pastor Shane Brinson and the Reverend George Dembeck officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at High Lawn Memorial Park, 1435 E.
