Juanita Hundley

Juanita Jones Hundley, 82, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Tyler’s Retreat at Iron Bridge.

Born April 10, 1940, Juanita was the daughter of the late J. Fabius and Louise M. Jones of Littleton, NC. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Littleton in her early years and was a member of Highland United Methodist Church after moving to Colonial Heights.  She graduated from Littleton High School, received her Bachelor's degree in Business from East Carolina College (now University) and her Master of Education from the College of William and Mary. Juanita was a teacher and counselor at Colonial Heights High School, and served her community as Chairman of the Colonial Heights School Board and as Chairman of the Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Social Services Board.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, her older sister Charlotte Callihan and brother-in-law Aaron, and by her beloved husband of 53 years, Jack R. Hundley. She is survived by two nephews, Daniel Callihan (Colleen) and David Callihan (Tracy); and a great-nephew and nieces, Matthew, Kate, Taylor and Caroline.  The family wishes to thank her dear friend Debbie Walwer of Colonial Heights, who graciously supported Juanita in the years since Jack’s passing.

A funeral service will be held in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 11 a.m. The graveside service and interment will be held at the Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery in Littleton, NC at 3 p.m.
