Judith E. "Judy" Wicks, 69, of Dinwiddie County, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at MCV Medical Center. Born in South Boston, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Margaret Lynch Elliott, and was preceded in death by her twin brother, James Woodson Elliott Jr. She was a former member of 3rd Presbyterian Church, Petersburg and Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Colonial Heights, and a current member of Ocran United Methodist Church. She was a retired Registered Nurse with Southside Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Wicks is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Wicks; a son, John I. Wicks Sr. and wife, Carol H. of Church Road; a daughter, Angie Wicks Coombs and husband, Michael Sean of Fairfax Station, Virginia; grandchildren, Chris Cornett, Josh Wicks, John I. Wicks, Jr., Lena Alexandra Coombs, and Michael Aidan Coombs; four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Brandon, Savannah and Braxton; a brother, Tommy Elliott of South Boston; two sisters, Nancy Genga and husband, Charles and Margie Carter and husband, Leo all of Church Road; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2014 at Ocran United Methodist Church, 20221 Cox Road, Sutherland, Virginia 23885 with Pastor Larry House officiating. Burial will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Friday prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ocran UMC Building Fund or a charity of your choice. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
