Julian Aubrey Luck, Jr., 78, of Henrico, North Carolina, formerly of Colonial Heights, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008 at Chippenham Medical Center. He was the son of the late Grace Sneed and Julian Aubrey Luck, Sr. Mr. Luck was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church, Ebony, Virginia, and a former member of Highland United Methodist Church, Colonial Heights. He was a veteran in the United States Army, a retired Fire Chief for the Defense General Supply, a life member of the Colonial Heights Fire & EMS, a member of the Colonial Heights American Legion Post 284, Lake Gaston Lions Club, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Roanoke-Rapids Chapter. He is survived by his wife, Mary Williamson Luck; daughters, Julie L. Hughes of Colonial Heights, and Gloria Jeanne Barnes and husband Doug of Midwest City, Oklahoma; sons, Hugh F. Luck and wife Betsy of Colonial Heights, and Paul E. Luck and wife Doris of Dinwiddie; three sisters, Eloise L. Thomas of Colonial Heights, Jane L. Scarborough of Chester, and Polly L. Turner and husband John of Bedford; nine grandchildren, Allison Wirt, Cory and Ashley Hughes, Brandon, Jessie, Christopher, and Kristina Luck, Nathan Cook, and Randall Barnes; one great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Wirt. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Rev. Kenneth Thrasher officiating. Interment Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
